Victor Harbor was originally a whaling port and later a shipping port for wool and farm produce. It is now primarily a holiday destination for city folk and interstate visitors. There are some good beaches located here, which are ideal for surfing and swimming. Also, between June and October you may be lucky enough to see the migrating Southern Right Whales
