Located only 22km south of Geelong, is the bustling holiday town of Torquay, population 5,000. The town is a haven for surfing and is the home for the surfing brands of Ripcurl and Quicksilver. There is a surfing museum with a wave-making tank, board shaping demos and surfing history videos and displays. Just a couple of km's south of town is the famous Bell’s Beach, where a World Class surfing competition is held every Easter. |

There are also some excellent coastal walks nearby. There is the Surfcoast walk, which is a 35km walk from Jan Juc near Torquay to Moggs Creek, past Anglesea. This walk encompasses spectacular coastal views, dense forest and local wildlife. There are also other shorter walks, that also offer great scenery. |
