Situated at the entrance to Western Port and 137km south east of Melbourne, Phillip Island has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Victoria. This has mainly been due to an extensive advertising campaign to attract people down the Mornington Peninsula to the Island, to see the nightly Penguin Parade. The penguins, which nest on the island year round, emerge from the water and waddle up the beach to their nests. |

There are also kangaroos, koalas and seals, which call Phillip Island home. The island has some great surfing beaches on the southern side and nice bay beaches on the northern side. |
The other main event that is associated with Phillip Island, is that it is the home to the Australian 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix in October. |
