backpacking Merimbula
Merimbula has a population of around 4,000 and is located approximately 470 km south of Sydney. It is a small charming seaside town situated around Lake Merimbula (which is actually the mouth of the Merimbula River). It is a great place to enjoy a relaxing slow-paced atmosphere. The town has some beautiful beaches, which are ideal for surfers and swimmers. You can also do whale watching between August and December or go bushwalking in any of the five nearby national parks and rainforest areas.
