If you are planning to backpack Lakes Entrance, then this page provides information on the backpacker hostel located here. The page also provides a description of Lakes Entrance, information on how to get here and contact details of the local visitor information centre.

This tourist town, population 5,250, is also Victoria’s largest fishing port. It is the major commercial town in the Gippsland Lakes region and provides a good place to stay while exploring the Lakes district. The region is a collection of saltwater lakes and small wilderness islands, and is very popular in the summer months with tourists. A short distance from town, is the famed Ninety Mile Beach that borders the Lakes district and is a popular surf beach.
