This small town was established in 1967 mainly as a service centre for the huge US navy communications base, which has now gone. On the coastal side of Exmouth are the wonders of the Ningaloo Reef, and on land is the dramatically, beautiful Cape Range National Park. |

Exmouth is an excellent spot for diving and fishing and divers can explore the amazing coral reef or swim unharmed with the giant whale sharks, which inhabit the waters of the area. The white sandy beaches around Exmouth go forever and are a great place to swim, as Exmouth has generally warm weather all year round.
