Devonport is a large town with a population of 25,500, which is located at the mouth of the Mersey River, 98 km west of Launceston. It is a very important port on Tasmania's north coast, because this is where the passenger ferry arrives from Melbourne, making the town a gateway to many other places in Tasmania. There is also some picturesque coastline nearby and Cradle Mountain is not to far away as well.
