This tiny town with a resident population of around 500, has the distinction of being the westernmost town in Australia. Denham originally started as a pearling port, but now relies more on prawning and tourism as its means of support. Just out of Denham is the Francois Peron National Park, which is known for its arid scenery and landlocked salt lakes. Denham is also known as a place to stop to visit Monkey Mia, 26km away where you can hand feed the bottle nosed dolphins. |

Shark Bay where Denham is located, is a World Heritage listed area. This is because of the Hamelin Pool stromatolites, the enormous seegrass beds, spectacular scenery and significant natural habitats.
