The Cape Tribulation area is part of the Cape Tribulation National Park. This is an area of stunning beauty, containing rugged mountain ranges that rise sharply behind the narrow coastal strip and are covered with beautiful rainforest that tumble back down the mountains to the beaches.

The area starts around the Daintree River, where you can take tours to explore the beauty of the area, or see some of the local saltwater crocodiles. The road then goes from here up to Cape Tribulation. Along this road you will witness some spectacular and beautiful scenery and you will come across some magnificent coastline with stunning beaches.

Rainforest Boardwalk -

Beyond Cape Tribulation the road is one of the worst roads in Australia. It is an ugly dirt-red gash across the face of the rainforest, which bleeds mud into the ocean whenever it rains. It is for 4WD vehicles only. This section of road has caused much environmental debate and protest.
The other advantage of this area is that you can access the Great Barrier Reef with tours leaving daily.
