Bowen is a classic north Central Queensland town with its wide streets and easiness of the lifestyle. The main appeal of Bowen lies not in the town itself, but in the beautiful, unspoiled bays to the north, which have some of the nicest beaches in the tropical north. These include; Horseshoe Bay, Murrays Bay, Rose Bay, Grays, Kings and Queens Beaches, the Town Beach and Dalrymple Point. Bowen is also surrounded by large fruit and vegetable growing areas, which provide backpackers with casual, seasonal picking work. |
