This small town, population 2,000, is 118km down the Great Ocean Road from Geelong and is a fishing village and holiday resort. Apollo Bay is a little less trendy than nearby Lorne and provides a more relaxed alternative. The town has some good eating places, arts and crafts stores, galleries and the Cable Station Historical Museum, where you can see some of the regions fascinating maritime and timber industry past.
Apollo Bay is closely located to Cape Otway and Otway National Park, where you can see some relatively untouched rainforest, spectacular views, waterfalls and other beautiful scenery. |
