backpacking Anglesea
This small holiday town is built around the Anglesea River, approximately 16km south-east of Torquay along the Great Ocean Road. The town sits on a great wide sandy beach, which is ideal for surfing and swimming and is also a popular place for sailboarder's when the wind is up.

The town is a great place to discover on foot. There is the 35km Surfcoast Walk, which passes through the town, along the coast and inland beside the Anglesea River. Coogoorah Park, which adjoins the river also has a series of walking tracks and boardwalks through native bush and wetlands.
